Community support for the nurse/client relationship through the collection and distribution of non-medical health and safety items


MVNA’s legacy of client support is a process that connects the community to its members in need. Non-medical health and safety items are donated to Community of Caring, funneled to MVNA and Hospice nurses who then give it to clients based on identified needs to support their plan of care. The acquisition of necessary items relies on the involvement of the larger community – YOU!

With your help, Community of Caring is able to provide and meet the basic needs of clients during difficult times. Our five most needed items are:

  1. Gift cards to local grocery and retail stores
  2. Diapers sizes newborn to 6
  3. Sheet sets for extra long twin, full and queen sizes
  4. Cash donations, which are used to purchase items from wholesalers at reduced prices (items include: portable cribs to promote safe sleep, weight scales and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors)

Helping Hands Drive

Hold a drive to stock our shelves with our most needed items so we can help clients year-round!

  • Baby wipes
  • Bath towels & wash cloths
  • Books (infant through age 5)
  • Cash donations
  • Development Toys (stacking rings, sorting cubes, rattles, teethers, mega blocks)
  • Diapers (newborn to size 5)
  • Gift cards (local grocery and retail stores in $10 increments i.e. Cub Foods, Target)
  • Sheet sets (twin, full and queen sized)

Send a Monetary Donation:

MVNA can purchase many needed items in bulk (such as portable cribs or weight scales), which are requested by our nurses for our clients. Cash donations also allow us to address unique needs.

Volunteers are vital to our agency! Effective January 1st, 2016, MVNA will integrate with Hennepin Healthcare Systems, Inc. and will share volunteer services with Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC).
