Position Purpose :
     
As a leader in mental health service delivery, this is a great opportunity to work in a supportive environment doing the work you love to do for patients with behavioral health issues. MVNA is a progressive community non-profit and prides itself in identifying new approaches to serving clients.  You also have the opportunity to visit clients in their home settings and will lead mental health services for clients receiving home care from registered nurses at MVNA. Other opportunities include:

  • Provide formal and informal education and training to professional and direct care staff.
  • Continue in professional growth and development to remain current on trends, standards, and evidence based practices in psychiatric nursing. 
  • Primarily work weekday hours with occasional evening or Saturdays to facilitate adequate coverage for all clients.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing with ANCC certification as an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health CNS or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 
  • Certification with a national professional nursing organization as a NP or CNS
  • Authorization from the MN Board of Nursing to prescribe drugs and therapeutic devices
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital, home care or clinic setting 
  • Certified in CPR
  • Good communication and problem solving abilities
  • Must be able to provide insured vehicle for transportation with a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clientele, including cultural difference, lower socio-economic status, population with multiple, complex physical, emotional and psychosocial conditions

 

 

 

 

 

RN Team Leader – Home Health
(Full-time, Benefited position)

Position Description:

This position will assume responsibility for leadership, coaching, training and supervision of staff and the oversight of clinical services for patients receiving care from the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the delivery of high quality clinical services to home care clients in accordance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, CHAP Standards and accepted standards of nursing practice. 
  • Provide coaching, training and supervision to home care staff including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Home Health Aides.
  • Assist in the development of staff education and training including competency testing.
  • Assist in quality assessment and performance improvement activities, including leading performance improvement projects. 
  • Ensure services are scheduled and delivered in accordance with regulations and standards of practice. 
  • Lead team meetings and case review meetings. 
  • Collaborate with team members, physicians and other health care providers to ensure comprehensive services. 
  • Communicate with other interested parties for comprehensive service delivery. 
  • Participate in delivering nursing case management services to Home Care Clients as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing- BSN required.
  • Current licensure in the state of Minnesota. 
  • Minimum of three years experience working as a registered nurse with at least one year of home care experience. 
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role. 
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to work within a team-based, high energy and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice and home care regulations. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • General computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and the Internet. 
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid MN Driver's license. 

 

 

PHN/RN CASE MANAGER HOME CARE
Full-Time; Benefited Position

Position Purpose:

PHN/BSN/RN Case Managers provide nursing visits and coordinate care for culturally diverse clients living in the eleven-county Twin Cities area according to written plan of care and in compliance with Agency policy and procedures. Carry and maintain an on -going responsibility of case loads. Primarily work weekday hours with occasional night and weekend rotation with staff to facilitate adequate coverage for all clients.

Qualifications:

  • RN, BSN, or certified PHN
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Minnesota
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a licensed, registered nurse; home care clinical experience preferred
  • Certified in CPR
  • Good communication and problem solving abilities
  • Must be able to provide insured vehicle for transportation with a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clientele, including cultural difference, lower socio-economic status, population with multiple, complex physical, emotional and psychosocial conditions

 

Flu Clinic RN
(Flexible, Part-time Positions)

Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency (MVNA) is a mission-driven agency with roots in public health nursing since 1902. It has strong ties to the community where it has provided Medicare and Medicaid certified Home Care and Hospice services in addition to public health services, community benefits, educational programs, immunizations and community wellness clinics. MVNA is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Your Opportunity:

Registered Nurses provide seasonal flu vaccinations at varying clinic sites throughout the metro area. Additional duties include proper documentation of client consent forms and managing the traffic flow of clients to maintain on-time appointments and scheduled clinic time.

Staff need to be able to work at least 10 hours per week. Clinics are provided 7 days a week from 6am-8pm from mid-August through the mid-November. We need staff to cover these clinics, but the heaviest days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This position does include some weekend and evening clinics. You should know your schedule at least three weeks in advance so we are able to schedule you for clinics.

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to travel throughout the entire metro area
  • Knowledge of computers, email, and able to access MVNA website
  • RN / PHN license in MN and/ or WI, (Bachelor Degree (BSN) RN preferred)
  • CPR/AED and first aid certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year recent nursing experience (or equivalent work hours)
  • Experience in immunization and/ or wellness clinics preferred
  • Demonstrate customer service skills to include; diplomacy, patience, problem solving in interactions with a range of clientele
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to clinic sites

 

 

 

 

LPN INTAKE SPECIALIST
.6 Part-time Position Available

POSITION PURPOSE: 

Perform customer service for the Intake Department by gathering information over the phone, inputting referrals into software system, and building and maintaining strong relationships with referral sources.  This position will require working 1-2 weekends a month.

Candidate must be able to:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external staff, health care providers and insurance companies
  • Coordinate with various departments within the Agency to support intake services
  • Problem-solve and data enter a variety of information into the computer system
  • Navigate through many systems and understand and articulate the information on the computer screens

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LPN with current license in Minnesota
  • Intake / Customer Service / Computer Entry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required; home care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare regulations, managed care systems and insurance authorization process preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
  • Ability to communicate effectively by telephone
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize a heavy workload
  • Good problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Demonstrate dependability, tact, and patience
