MVNA collaborates with Block Nurse Programs to provide specialized geriatric services in Hennepin and Ramsey County neighborhoods. Our goal is to help seniors live safely and independently in their home by providing holistic home health care focused on addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs compromising client quality of life.

Block nurses are Registered Nurses (RN) with specialized training in public health and geriatrics. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Home Health Aides also play a role in the Block Nurse Program.

Services include nursing visits, physical and occupational therapy, skilled nursing assessments and teaching, nutritional counseling, exercise instruction, home safety evaluation, client advocacy, medication management and personal care.

Child Care Consultation MVNA provides consultation services and training to licensed childcare centers to encourage healthy and safe environments for children.

MVNA’s Child Care Consultation team provides services to licensed child care centers in Hennepin, Ramsey and Anoka counties, providing health education to center directors, childcare staff, parents and children.

Child care centers with preschool and nursery programs receive an Annual Comprehensive Health Assessment, including review of health and safety policies and practices per MN DHS Rule 3. Staff education classes are also offered at a preferred discount rate with priority scheduling.

Child care centers with infants receive monthly consultation site visits. At the site visits, the MVNA Child Care Consultation team observes staff care giving skills and environmental conditions for sleeping, eating and playing.
